Legal Assistant

We are currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of a part time Paralegal/Legal Assistant (16-20 hours per week.) The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will primarily be responsible for managing work product through dictation, managing administrative duties, as well as being responsible for closing and organizing case files. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, has strong organizational skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment. Salary is negotiable.

Skills & Knowledge:

·       Capable of managing a large volume of work product through dictation

·       Draft letters, pleadings, and discovery among other legal documents

·       Complete administrative duties as needed such as copying, emailing, and faxing documents, answering and directing phone calls,          coordinating appointments, and greeting clients

·       Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence

·       Must be able to do digital dictation

·       Typing speed of at least 65 wpm. Typing test will be given

Education & Experience:

·       One-year legal office/paralegal experience 

·       Previous domestic relations experience is a plus, but not required

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·       Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision

·       Highly organized and detail-oriented

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as dictation skills
