Junior Accountant

Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.

• Must have Retail accounting experience, tracking invoices to retailers, mass merchandisers (Target, Walmart, etc..) (Ideal: invoicing large grocery chains; with this specific experience, salary becomes more negotiable)
• Must have experience working in QuickBooks Desktop Pro accounting system
• Available to work in office five days a week

Responsibilities:

• Invoicing large grocery chains (dealing with shelf allowances, discounts, credits, etc..)
• Assist Senior Accountant with monthly close; closing entries
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements as needed (income statement and balance sheet)
• As needed, help maintain general ledger including coding invoices, account reconciliations, billing, cash collections, expense accruals
• Tracking invoices, reconciling customer payments that include deductions for discounts, allowances, trade spend promotions, etc..; then booking these resulting net revenue deductions agasint accruals and other promotional expenses.
