POSITION TITLE:Junior Staff Accountant
SUPERVISOR TITLE: Accounting Manager
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and other required activities. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. The Junior Staff Accountant will assist with determining short and long-term financial objectives, policies and actions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reports organization's finances and potential risk areas to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to support the financial infrastructure.
- Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
- Evaluate all reports and maintain financial accuracy for all corporate processes and analyze all business trends and provide required explanations.
- Stay on top of trial balances for all the companies in the US.
- This includes being vigilant of all balance sheet account activity.
- Analyze P&L accounts and compare against previous periods and budgets.
- Explain clearly variances found and proactively act to ensure discrepancies do not get posted incorrectly.
- Develop and maintain supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.
- Review and post journal entries ensuring they are fully supported.
- Perform bank clearing procedures.
- Perform reversals, cancellations, and report to management accordingly.
- Monitor all activities and ensure compliance to all corporate standards.
- Develop profit and loss metrics to facilitate key performance indicators.
- Perform financial forecasts, prepare corporate reports and provide an efficient interface with all customers to resolve all payment issues and develop and achieve all objectives.
- Provide support to all ad hoc projects and analyze all financial presentations efficiently to provide support to all activities and recommend improvement to all business practices and processes.

KNOWLEDGE –
- Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting, payroll, or similar function
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Knowledge of excellent business principles
- Must be highly computer literate with strong Excel skills
- SAP experience is preferred
- Experience managing and motivating staff
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
COMMENTS –
- Must have excellent written/oral communication skills as well as analytical and problem solving skills
- Possible occasional travel in the field
