The Opportunity
As a dedicated IT System Analyst/Technology Risk Analyst- Intermediate Level, you will assists in providing support between business and IT delivery functions for the purpose of enabling the on-boarding, enhancement and support of systems, applications and other technology solutions. Participates in the assessment of evolving business requirements, to include evaluating and validating technical requirements. Assists in translating technical requirements into functional solution specifications. Researches and helps the team resolve production issues and defects. Assists in the definition and creation of test artifacts.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Phoenix, AZ,. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Under limited supervision applies basic knowledge of IT delivery functions and their supporting business functions to include processes, services and technology solutions.
- Under limited supervision participates in the analysis and design of technology solutions supporting simple IT delivery functions to ensure their business needs are met.
- Under limited supervision proactively communicates and collaborates with customers on the analysis of business needs and requirements to deliver solution artifacts as needed.
- Elicits technical requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, process analysis, use case scenarios, task inquiry and workflow analyses.
- Participates in the implementation and ongoing sustainment of technology solutions.
- Participates in the review of test artifacts.
- Provides clarification and actively participates in defect management activities to confirm requirements are being met.
- Participates in change control activities for affected system artifacts.
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
- Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 2 years of related experience and accountability for executing projects related to process improvement, business requirements, and/or technology solutions.
- Developing knowledge of the targeted IT functions and demonstrated application of knowledge, skills and abilities needed to to provide their support.
- Developing level of business acumen, with exposure to industry practices and emerging trends required in the areas related to the targeted IT delivery functions.
What sets you apart:
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
- Ability to analyze process changes and understand upstream/downstream impacts.
- Experience in conducting IT risk assessments.
- Understanding of Industry-wide Risk Management Frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, etc.)
- Solid understanding of operational risk and compliance risk primarily within the Information Technology, Enterprise Security, and/or Enterprise Data organizations
- Understanding of the regulatory landscape as it applies to Information Security, Privacy, Technology, Business Continuity, and Data
- Solid understanding of DevOps practices, Database Management, Web Technologies, Mobile Development, Data Analytics, Networking, Emerging Technologies like Generative AI
- SDLC knowledge is a huge plus.
- Experience in leading IT efforts.
- Experience with hands on coding using programming languages like Python, Java, C++
- Strong organizational and communication skills

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $61,110-$116,800.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
