Manufacturing Lead

To help us continue to grow our offerings, we’re searching for a Manufacturing Team Lead (Glazing Department) to assist the Glazing Supervisor in leading production teams throughout the glazing manufacturing process. The Glazing Team Lead will be expected to help the Glazing Team meet or exceed the quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery expectations of the company standards. The Glazing Team Lead will also assist in training, reading and interpretation of drawings, and operation of fabrication equipment to meet the company objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the supervisor and assist with day-to-day operations on the shop floor.
• Expect to run manufacturing equipment or lead the assembly of a key process approximately 80% of each workday.
• Assist in performing in process and final inspection on orders going through the shop to maintain quality standards that meet customer expectations.
• Assist to develop, implement and support ongoing safety and process improvements.
• Inspect machinery daily for proper usage and guarding.
• Accurately report all issues and/or changes on job orders accordingly to the Glazing Supervisor.
• Act as a temporary back up to the Glazing Supervisor in instances of vacation or absence.
• Assist the Glazing Supervisor in coordinating processes and material within the department to ensure on-time delivery as outlined in the facility production schedule.
• Focus of efforts on continuous improvement and expected to participate in project teams related to helping the business improve and become safer, more efficient, and produce job materials with better quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a production role, preferably in the manufacturing of raw materials to finished goods setting.
• Knowledge and experience in safely operating saws, notching, drilling, and other fabricating machinery.
• Ability to use and understand basic measuring instruments.
• Ability to count accurately and record production data.
• Ability to operate an electric or propane-powered sit-down forklift safely and effectively, and overhead crane is a plus, though not required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
