Job Summary
The IT Desktop Support Technician 2 will be based in Columbia, SC. This position is responsible for installing and supporting desktop/laptop hardware and software, computers peripherals, office printers and maintain PC assets.
Here is a glimpse of what you'll do...
- Performs the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related systems
- Assists in determining suitable software to meet user requirements
- Manage required supplies for printers (not to include paper)
- Install software, patches, and updates on desktops, laptops and personal devices
- Keep accurate tracking of all assets supported by Deskside
- Maintains PC assets in both a physical and logical manner and maintain its accurate tracking
- Provide 1st line technical support for end-users computers hardware and software, printers and its network connectivity
- Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to personal (desktop or laptop) end-users computers
- Assist Network Administrator/Analyst to troubleshoot end-users network-related issues
- Interacts with vendors to facilitate repairs of hardware, i.e. printers, laptops and desktops
- Performs image builds for use on all desktop and laptops
- Performs other duties as assigned
Here is some of what you'll need (required)...
- Associates degree or equivalent
- At least 5 years of IT support or related experience
- Willingness to learn Factory Server and Bann in order to provide first level support
- Linux Knowledge

- Ability to assist Network Administrator/Analyst to troubleshoot end-users network-related issues
- Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot Local Area Networks and data communications equipment such as switches and routers
- Ability to assist in maintaining and repairing network operating systems, the network cabling infrastructure, and other telecom related components
- Able to ensure the network and all related equipment are in working order
- Experience with working with IT support personnel to analyze and solve network-related problems reported by end-users or thru proactive monitoring tools alerts
- Ability to support IT Support personnel on desk side hardware moves, additions and changes
