Senior Finance Manager - O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law - Georgetown University Law Center
The O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law - housed at Georgetown University Law Center - was established in 2007 through the generous philanthropy of Linda and Timothy O'Neill to respond to the need for innovative solutions to the most pressing global health concerns. In bringing together experts from both the public health and legal fields, the O'Neill Institute reflects the importance of public and private law in health policy analysis.
Job Overview
The Senior Manager of Finance supports the financial health of the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law and manages its organizational strategy.
They manage budget and financial data for the O'Neill Institute's eight Initiatives, and aligns financial priorities, develops policies and processes, and oversees the Institute's administrative core, including Financial Coordinator(s) and Institute and Initiative Program Coordinator(s).
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Financial management, budgetary oversight, projections, and reporting
  • Grants and contract management
  • Institute operations and administration

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting to the Institute's Director of Financial Strategy and External Affairs, the Senior Finance Manager works closely with the Initiative Directors to support an operationally efficient and fiscally sound Institute.
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position's mode of work designation. Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 to 7 years of experience with financial management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and job prioritization skills
  • Strong orientation to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures, develop innovative approaches, and adapt to changes in policies and technologies
  • Proficiency in Workday and Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualification
  • Financial management experience in a university setting
  • Grants management experience
