Hiring Range: $52,243 - $56,000 Entry Level
Hours: Full Time Exempt - This is an in person position it is not remote.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for deployment and maintenance of end-user hardware and software in coordination with the rest of the Information Technology team, and for responding to help desk tickets and other reported Technology problems. Serves as the First Point of Contact for the District's I.T. needs across multiple facilities and departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serves as first point of contact, responding to tickets, e-mails, phone calls, and walk-in requests for technical support
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of end-user desktops, mobile devices (phones, tablets, desktops, and laptops), printers, and point-of-sale hardware
- Responding to and resolving alerts and notifications from anti-virus and EDR/XDR systems
- Administration of desktop imaging software, Mobile Device Management (MDM), IT Asset Management tools, and other hardware management tools.
- Performs small-scale structured cabling installations, and coordinates with contractors when necessary for larger projects
- Coordination of setup and tear-down of temporary I.T. and A/V equipment, for special events, meetings, off-site events, etc.
- Administration of Mobile Device Management platform(s)
- Installation, maintenance, and uptime monitoring of Genetec security system software and Axis security cameras throughout the Park District
- In coordination with the IT Assistant, serves as on-site support and point-of-contact for all Live Streaming and Recording events, and deployments of the agency's portable Jumbotron.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with ongoing IT Projects.
- Participate in on the job training or off-site training.
- Basic working knowledge of A/V equipment such as projectors, amplifiers, etc.
- Operation of the agency's FAA Part 107-authorized Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone) to assist other departments with documentation, photography, marketing, etc.
- Participation in monthly off-hour maintenance windows (one weeknight per month)
- Write or record documentation for various IT systems
- Occasionally perform basic Systems Administration tasks, such as password resets, when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Effective communication skills, both orally and written; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical end-users
- Ability to troubleshoot without direct supervision; willingness to ask questions of other I.T. Staff for clarification when needed.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux)
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware components
- Subject to modified/flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.
- Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 UAS Operator Certificate within 1 year of hire
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Actual work experience installing and maintaining Windows network and PC software applications. CompTIA A+ Certification strongly recommended. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
