Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Business Affairs is seeking an IT services Specialist to join its technical team and innovative leadership to advance the student/customer experience. This position will provide the daily technical and administrative support needed for the CarolinaCard office and other auxiliary areas to include food services, bookstore, vending, etc. Primary duties include training, problem solving, routine system checks and website maintenance. Other responsibilities include providing software and hardware technical services, project management and administrative support for the Door Access system, monitoring of the CSGold system and providing customer service equipment troubleshooting services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Systems and at least 1 year of experience; or equivalency

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Familiarity with or ability to learn how to install, maintain, repair, modify, design and test card reader and other related hardware. Knowledge of office automation standards and microcomputer hardware and software. Ability to establish working relationships with users, vendors, and office staff. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, be multi-task oriented and be able to conduct ongoing follow up on tasks and projects from start to finish.
Job Duties
Job Duty
Serves as hardware technician providing day-to-day technical support for CarolinaCard system hardware, which includes installations, hardware programming, procedures for hardware use and training users.
Assists in training of all users of software and hardware as related to CaorlinaCard components , as required, as it relates to the CarolinaCard system hardware.
Installs, supports, maintains, repairs, modifies, tests and upgrades CarolinaCard components, as required, as it relates to the CarolinaCard system hardware.
Manages rental agreements and the rentals of CarolinaCard equipment to departments, student organizations and campus events.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty
Provides project management duties for old/new construction needs for Door Access System. Provides critical administrative support, reviews requests and evaluates stated needs for Door Access; discusses details with users and meets with contractors on site; supervises installation and ensures Access is working properly before sign off.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 45 Job Duty
Serves as hardware and software technician providing day-to-day technical support for CarolinaCard office and other campuses, as related to CarolinaCard operations. Provides support for ID card production for CarolinaCard operations, to include all campuses issuing ID cards that access CarolinaCard System.
Monitor CSGOLD system and reports daily to identify and resolve equipment problems. Perform daily system checks to ensure CarolinaCard equipment is always working properly and on-line.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty
Provides trouble shooting support, to include customer problem research and resolution, equipment issue investigation, contractor communication regarding hardware malfunctions, vendor communications regarding software issues, and miscellaneous issues with meal plans and door access.
