  • This is a hybrid-remote position located in the Bay Area of California with the expectation of being able to reliably commute and attend in person team meetings in the San Francisco Bay Area, and travel to our operating companies in Seattle, Oregon, and the Bay Area.

ROLE

Under general direction, this position is responsible for People & Culture (P&C) communications and employer branding. The role involves articulating the value of employee ownership through P&C employee communications, employer branding, and initiatives aimed at engaging employee-owners.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements an integrated employee-owner communications strategy that will inspire, deliver clarity on, and connect to the Chief People & Culture Officer’s People first strategy.  
  • Creates compelling content for our employee communications and engagement programs in collaboration with P&C functional leads and people partners.  
  • Develops compelling and visually engaging branding materials (PowerPoint, articles, pamphlets, video content, etc.) that showcases our company culture, employee-owner testimonials, and career opportunities.
  • Drafts, edits, and consults on other key employee-facing communications across internal documents, presentations, videos, and other mediums within the P&C Community. 
  • Develops employee communication plans related to supporting people managers and the employee life cycle to elevate the employee-owner experience.
  • Writes and/or partners with content partners to design, edit, collaborate, and distribute content to support key employee communications through (email, video, print). 
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to create materials relating to employee engagement, and or people objectives. 
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of a year around employee communication calendar in partnership with P&C functional leads. 
  • Ensures all content aligns with the people strategy and is consistent with brand identity, voice, and tone. 
  • Develops an effective employer branding program that highlights Recology’s employee value proposition and people first philosophy.
  • Works closely with the Talent Acquisition team to understand talent needs and target audiences to tailor employer brand initiatives accordingly.
  • Crafts clear and compelling employer brand messaging that resonates with prospective candidates and reflects our company values.
  • Manages LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed platforms to position Recology as an Employer of Choice.
  • Collaborates with the marketing and communication teams to ensure consistent messaging across all external and internal channels to realize effective holistic marketing strategies, campaigns, and results.
  • Drives application growth by planning, developing, and optimizing ad strategies across digital channels including our career website.
  • Assists with the collection and reporting of people metrics. 
  • Other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is:

  • 4 or more years of experience in communications, marketing, employee engagement, or related field. 
  • Experience executing an employer branding strategy aligned to the Employer Value Proposition, setting metrics to measure success and executing against a defined plan.
  • Creative, visual storytelling with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of building inspiring narratives. 
  • Excellent editor and content developer.
  • Exhibits effective project management and follow-through to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a proactive approach to deliver on communication goals. 
  • Knowledge of design principles preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing technology and communication tools to enhance the delivery of information. 
  • Proficiently with Microsoft Office and M365, Social Media Platforms, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Schedule:
