HealthRIGHT 360’s residential substance use disorder (SUD) program is a program contracted with Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program for residential drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services for up to 99 adult men and women: 33 that are for men who are judicially involved, 33 for men, and 33 for women. The residential DMC program work closely with the other BHC programs to provide a continuum of services for low income/Medi-Cal population. The program is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and will serve all LA County residents.
The Intake Coordinator II is responsible for the initial assessment of candidates to determine medical necessity, completion of program admission forms, ASAM assessment, and urgent referrals regarding medical and mental health needs. The Intake Coordinator II works in conjunction with Treatment Facility Director and the other Intake Specialists to provide a warm hand off to the client’s treatment team, assuring new clients are stabilized, and urgent needs have been addressed. The Intake Coordinator II will work closely with Counselors, Case Managers, Therapists, and other team members to coordinate and monitor client issues.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Service:
- Provide mental health/level of care assessments and diagnoses for adults seeking Residential services.
- Consults regularly with Residential staff to ensure clients meet criteria for safe admission to appropriate level of treatment.
- Provides crisis intervention and referrals to high-level of care as necessary.
- Go to co-located sobering center site, as needed, to perform mental health/level of care assessments with clients seeking residential treatment upon release.
- Facilitates group sessions focused on substance use recovery, trauma recovery, co-occurring mental health symptoms, and other personal change topics.
- Provide thorough written documentation of all services provided in compliance with regulations, contracts, and behavioral health standards.
- Persists in efforts to solve issues even when faced with internal barriers; takes personal responsibility for customer service outcomes.
- Attends regular supervision, trainings, meetings, and events related to furthering professional development.
- Write and complete all progress notes within 72 hours of service delivery.
- Maintains compliance with due dates for all clinical documentation.
- Writes client progress letters and court reports and obtains final approval from the supervisor.
- Documentation must maintain in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR, DMH, and SAPC standards.
- Completes all assigned URCs within a timely matter.
- Maintains full compliance with CCAPP or CADTP requirements for registration and certification.
- Attends and actively participates in assigned Clinical Group Supervision.
- Completes all assigned trainings and Relias trainings in a timely manner.
- Transports clients as needed.
- Completes client UA tests and documents test results.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education, Certification, and Experience:
- BBS registration or licensure required from an accredited agency (LMFT/AMFT, LCSW/ASW).
- First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.
- CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum two years of experience in dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment in an inpatient or residential community mental health setting.
- Experience conducting assessments and providing appropriate diagnoses.
- Experience with Mental Health Medi-Cal procedures.
- Has valid driver’s license and able to pass an agency driving test to use agency vehicle for off-site visits.
- Must not be on active parole or probation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain satisfactory background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain live scan clearance.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster shots. Medical or religious exemptions are not available.
- Familiarity with Drug-Medical and ASAM Criteria is a plus.
