Indian Creek Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state of the art ASC jointly owned by the University of Kansas Health System and physician investors, and managed by Surgical Care Affiliates, LLC. Indian Creek ASC has 7 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms and provides patients with services in Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, GI and Pain. ICC ASC is a fast-paced, high volume outpatient surgery center that provides exceptional care to surgical patients.
Indian Creek ASC is seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist with a diverse skillset. The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for verifying medical benefits, confirming the patients' financial responsibility, and ensuring facility compliance with Care Management requirements. The Insurance Verification Specialist ensures that pre-certification, authorization, and referrals are in place for surgical cases, and that payor and responsible party information is entered correctly into the accounting system. The Insurance Verification Specialist informs patients of their financial liability to the surgery center and assists with patient account inquiries. The Insurance Verification Specialist must be detail-oriented and organized, and demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills. The Insurance Verification Specialist must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently and thoroughly, and will cross-train to other duties in the facility as needed.
Required experience/skills/education
High school diploma or GED required; college or technical school preferred
Minimum of two years benefits knowledge of local payors preferably in an ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or medical office
Minimum of two years experience in prior-authorizations.
Experience with HST, or other medical billing software is preferred; must demonstrate ability to type 45 wpm
