SalarySunMED Medical is seeking candidates for our Insurance Verification Department. The ideal candidate will have strong Durable Medical Equipment insurance knowledge, excellent communication skills, and possesses a true passion for helping patients in need. Candidates must be comfortable on the phone for many hours each day.
Responsibilities
- Enters all of the benefits information given from the insurance company
- Enter necessary billing information into a computer and compute amounts due (i.e. deductible, OOP etc.)
- When needed, initiate and obtain a prior authorization or pre-determination for products that need verification
- Convey benefit coverage to customers
- Communicate with Sales and Customer Care for priority handling of patients
- Adhere to processes according to department procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of data
- May obtain missing information as required
- May be responsible for answering patient coverage questions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Brightree experience is a plus
- Skills in working with insurance carriers obtaining benefits and starting/requesting authorizations
- Being able to clearly convey the benefits in a written or verbal format so that a patient can understand their benefits
- Knowledge of third party health insurance and how it works is preferred, as would be general medical knowledge, including HCPCS and ICD-10 codes
- Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Computer proficiency, along with the ability to type
Further consideration on compensation possible based on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
