The Allen Institute is seeking an Instructional Designer to join their Environment, Health, and Safety team in Seattle, WA.
The Instructional Designer works in a team environment to create engaging, effective, and efficient training for our science and support staff. The position works as a member of the Environment, Health, and Safety team. The position works closely with our Learning, Experience and Development (LEaD) team, to develop and improve training content and strategize training deployments. This position will report to the Director of Environment, Health, and Safety.

Essential Functions
- Collaborate and work with subject matter experts and use content authorizing software to create engaging, effective, and efficient training in support of our regulatory obligations
- Provide expertise on design of eLearning modules, video, facilitation guides, tutorials, process documents, and internal web content
- Work in collaboration with our Learning, Experience, and Development (LEaD) team to assign and deploy training
- Assist with the development of procedures guiding the work processes
- Work as part of a team to find solutions to address challenges and develop appropriate responses
- Provide other services as need is determined

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience
- At least one year of experience working with content authoring software such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate
- Familiarity with concepts of adult learning
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in instructional design, science education, or related fields
- Certificate in online/e-learning design
- Two years of experience with Articulate 360
- A portfolio of recent work created with content authoring software
- Experience interfacing with learning management software systems
- Competency with MS Office Suite of software
- Experience supporting a laboratory research environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- May enter laboratory environment, including areas where hazardous materials or research animals are present
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This role is currently able to work both remotely and onsite in a hybrid work environment. We are a Washington State employer, and any remote work must be performed in Washington State.

Annualized Salary Range
$63,040 - $92,500*
*Final salary depends on required education for the role, experience, and level of skills relevant to the role, along with work location, where applicable.
