Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist (Employee Engagement), under the direction of the Director, Human Resources Administration, is primarily responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase Employee Engagement within CCI. They will work across CCI to help ensure employees feel heard, valued, appreciated, and motivated. The Human Resources Generalist (Employee Engagement) will identify problem areas and assist in implementing practical solutions to improve Employee Engagement, with the goal of creating a culture where employees are committed to the success CCI.

 

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a liaison between HR and departments through the full life cycle of Employee Engagement initiatives with a focus on DEI initiatives.
  • Evaluate CCI’s culture and climate to determine if any changes need to be made to improve employee satisfaction.
  • Serves as a leader on CCI’s DEI Committee and point of contact.
  • Create surveys to measure employee satisfaction and morale through various channels such as email, phone call prompts, etc.
  • Review survey results and assist management create action plans based on their findings.
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to gather information about why they are leaving CCI and how to improve retention rates.
  • Provide leadership training to managers and other employees on topics such as conflict management, team building, and coaching skills.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create initiatives and programs that promote Employee Engagement.
  • Assist managers develop plans to improve Employee Engagement through one-on-one meetings with employees, focus groups, workshops, or other methods.
  • Conduct stay interviews with current CCI employees to gage interest in remaining with CCI and to develop action plans to retain them.
  • Determine best ways to engage employees, such as through contests or recognition programs.
  • Recognize and reward employees for exceptional work and contributions.
  • Help establish and maintain an open-door policy for employees to communicate with management.
  • Monitor and report on engagement metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze trends and adjust engagement strategies as necessary.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate.
  • Participates in meetings, serves on committees, and represents the department and CCI in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
  • Create and deliver presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Assist with the development, implementation, documentation, and administration of processes and procedures to ensure effective, efficient, and continuity of HR service delivery.
  • Prepare human capital metrics and presentations of key findings to help guide decisions and mitigate risk.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and administration of wellness initiatives and programs.
  • Assist with routine and recurring reporting.
  • Working on-site is an essential duty for the job. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of State and Federal employment-related laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

  • Experience related to serving individuals from historically oppressed populations.
  • Experience working with diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
  • Supports and enhances a sense of belonging and success of students from traditionally marginalized populations.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-oppression concepts and issues, especially as they apply to agency recruitment, placement and teaching.

  • Ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines for multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with HRMS (e.g., HRIS, ATS, L&D, Performance Management); experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrable experience with analytics and metrics.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships across all levels of the company.  Must be able to drive work collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be customer-service-focused.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma.  Associates or 4-year college degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five (3) years of experience in Human Resources and strong project management skills. Four (4) years of demonstrated progressive experience in Employee Engagement and retention, focused on achieving identified organizational goals and objectives.
  • Or, an equivalent combination of post-high school education and nine (9) years in Human Resources and strong project management skills. Four (4) years of demonstrated progressive experience in managing processes and resources focused on achieving identified organizational goals and objectives.
  • Three years of office experience, with at least two (2) years in Human Resources, preferably with an FQHC or nonprofit.
  • Experience conducting internal interviews and investigations.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and developing content and conducting virtual and in-person training.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent highly desired.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
