Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center provides top notch orthopedic care to over 1.5 million prospective clients and 300 plus veterinarians in the Omaha metropolitan area. Sirius Vet is looking for motivated, energetic, team-oriented individual who takes pride and find joy in helping others.
This is a full time (30+ hours) non exempt, in-person position, working Monday-Friday (NO WEEKENDS). The salary range starts at $24-$28 hourly with quarterly bonus incentives.

Position Summary:
The HR Generalist carries out the responsibilities in recruiting & staffing, employee benefits, HR compliance, employee relations & retention, and performance management. The HR Generalist will work closely with the Hospital Administrator, Owners and Managers to promote talent and growth while providing support to the hospital.
Reports To: Hospital Administrator & Owners
Keys to Success: Develops knowledge and understanding of the Sirius Vet culture to effectively align and guide the employer and employee to success through trustworthy relationships and clear and effective communication.
Essential Functions:
Recruiting & Staffing
- Collaborate Hospital Administrator and managers on hiring needs and goals to ensure successful recruitment of employees
- Manage job postings on recruiting website
- Coordinate candidate interviews
- Review resumes, assisting hiring manager
- Conduct phone screens, schedule and assist with interview process
- Complete reference checks
- Document job postings following retention guidelines
- Develop and maintain job descriptions for all employees
- Coordinate, initiate, and conduct new hire onboarding
Employee Relations & Retention
- Maintain communication on HRIS home page
- Handle confidential employee matter, assisting manager and/or Hospital Administrator
- Advise managers and/or hospital administrator in appropriate disciplinary action
- Develop effective and trustworthy relationships with all team members
- Assists with employee recognition and celebrations
- Assist with employee continued education and development program
- Assist Hospital Administrator and Managers with termination process
- Complete hiring, promotion and termination checklists
Benefits
- Coordinate, monitor and communicate benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401K/retirement, EAP)
- Conduct new hire benefit orientation
- Process new hire benefit enrollment
- Monitor and process qualifying life events
- Communicate and process annual benefits open enrollment
- Work with benefit representative to prepare open enrollment details
- Schedule and conduct open enrollment office meeting
- Process and communicate open enrollment elections to employees and vendors
- Troubleshoot and communicate benefit questions throughout an employee’s lifecycle
- Reconcile monthly benefits invoices
- Process 401K/retirement contributions following biweekly payroll schedule
- Maintain and process time off, including Holidays and Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Maintain and process leave of absence
Compensation
- Maintain employee compensation in Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Assist with and process employee raises
- Import employee benefits selection/s into HRIS
- Assist with and process employee quarterly bonus program
- Process and communicate bi-weekly payroll
- Import, edit, and approve timesheets before established deadline
- Process Holiday, PTO and unpaid time for timesheets
- Communicate with outsourced bookkeeper and HRIS
- Review accuracy of payroll processing
Compliance
- Maintain employee handbook in accordance to company policies, employment laws and guidelines
- Maintain personnel files, benefit records, and all confidential HR records
- Develop and maintain HRIS
- Assist in the compliance of ADA, EEOC, OSHA and other laws and requirements
- Complete census/survey information
- Complete employment verifications
Performance Management
- Develop quarterly performance reviews within HRIS
- Goal setting
- Self evaluations
- Assist managers and/or Hospital Administrator with conducting performance reviews
- Process employee promotions within HRIS and payroll

Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years experience in HR Generalist or related role
