Job description

BROAD FUNCTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting various HR functions, including recruitment and retention, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, compensation and other related areas.  This role will support a local shared services center with opportunities to collaborate on a domestic and international level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting to candidate selection, including building and maintaining relationships with external recruitment agencies, collaborating with hiring managers and utilizing an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to manage the recruiting process and reports.
  • Address employee concerns and provide guidance on various employee relations issues. When necessary, conduct investigations and collaborate with management to resolve workplace issues.
  • In conjunction with management, provide resolution of performance issues and assist in the progressive discipline process up to and including termination.
  • Conduct exit interviews and manage the offboarding process.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through effective communication and serve in a leadership role on the employee engagement committee.
  • Form solid working relationships with department managers and employees, by developing a thorough knowledge of IPG operations, departments and HR procedures.
  • Provide support to business partners in a hybrid workforce model.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating IPG values in words and actions.
  • Partner with colleagues operating in specialist capacities such as benefits, HRIS, payroll, learning and development and compensation.
  • Partner with other HR team members to promote a highly effective department: e.g., information sharing, feedback, and communication.
  • Partner with HR Coordinator to ensure HR transactions are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Document processes to help improve efficiencies and communicate new programs.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives to support an inclusive workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws, while keeping abreast of changes to regulations.
  • Participate in human resources projects and initiatives to ensure successful and timely implementation.
  • Perform other functions as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Ability to work onsite in an office environment with limited remote work alternatives, consistent with applicable law.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, PHR or SHRM-CP certifications desired
  • 3+ years generalist and employee relations experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and HR software (Greenhouse, PeopleSoft, and Workday preferred)
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, the ability to build rapport, and effective relationship building skills
  • Demonstrates independent judgement and decision making skills
  • Demonstrates strong organization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work well in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to act as a sounding board, ask thought provoking questions and help others explore and evaluate options when making decisions
  • Ability to multitask and advocate change management
  • Knowledge of benefits administration and compensation principles and practices
