- Responsible for executing assigned Human Resources functions, which may include, but is not limited to recruiting, benefits, training, performance management, compensation, job descriptions, employee relations issues, policies and procedures, and health and safety.
- Participates in the employee onboarding process, coordinating with managers and other required departments to ensure all steps in the process function smoothly for all involved.
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
- Act as a Payroll back-up to Accounting as needed; processing and reconciling if needed.
- Answer general inquiries and specific questions regarding performance management, eligibility, salaries, benefits, employee relations, and other pertinent information.
- Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, such as demographic information, benefits, and compensation, leave of absence, and performance records. Coordinate with other Zoot departments as needed.
- Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
- Participate in the annual job description review process to ensure accuracy and auditability.
- Participates in employee recognition efforts and ensure managers can utilize recognition tools easily and frequently.
- Participate in corporate and community social events, as appropriate.
- Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
- As needed, develop and deliver employee, manager, and company-focused curriculum and training programs, with assistance from managers or other subject matter experts. Modify trainings as needed, based on feedback or changing needs.
- Maintain training records for employees.
- Participate in full cycle recruitment of technical and non-technical positions that align with the business’ needs.
- Execute Zoot’s recruiting strategy to attract a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates, develop new and creative ways that open up new sources of talent, and manage Zoot’s applicant tracking system to leverage its capabilities to manage the candidate pool effectively and provide prospective employees with an outstanding experience.
- Work with hiring managers to understand a position’s needs, develop job postings, post new positions, schedule and conduct interviews of prospective job candidates, and participate in the decision making process to hire new Zooters.
- Provide training to hiring managers and other employees to ensure effective interviewing techniques are utilized and compliance with legal aspects are followed.
- Participate in and execute the employee onboarding process, coordinating with the HR team, managers, and other departments to provide an outstanding employee experience pre-hire and over their first six months.
- Help managers develop accurate and detailed job descriptions, while determining classification, exempt status, and salary. Participate in the management of the annual job description review process to ensure accuracy and auditability.
- Support in the Administration of employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits and serve as either a primary or secondary point of contact for processes that require employee action (i.e. open enrollment), depending on assignment.
- Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures. Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
- Work effectively as a team member with the HR staff, management, and employees.
- Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the HR team and Zoot.
- Provide support, as needed, for other department initiatives, including employee relations events (Fun Committee) and recruiting.
- Maintain and expand professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Compliance with and knowledge of Zoot’s Policies and Procedures, Code of Business Conduct, and Employee Agreement.

- Bachelor Degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or other related field preferred.

- 3+ years of related professional experience in a Human Resources/Employee Relations role.
