American Spirit Corporation/Carlson Print Group is an award winning printing, specialty packaging and data marketing company seeking a Human Resource Generalist. This is a FT on-site position primarily at our Eden Prairie, MN office with flexibility to travel to our Howard Lake, MN location.
Job Summary: Primary responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, staffing and record management. Provide human resource generalist support with employee relations, policies, benefits administration, and other areas as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads the recruitment lifecycle including candidate sourcing, posting jobs, resume screening, phone interviews, drug testing, background checks, and conducting new employee orientations
- Builds and maintains relationships with staffing agencies and recruiters
- Create and implement initiatives that support employee retention and engagement
- Ensure hiring decisions are implemented consistently in the best interest of both employees and the company
- Update HR documents, employee files, job descriptions, maintain work records and prepare payroll/HRIS reports
- Provide professional and positive communications and interactions with all levels of employees answering questions, giving assistance and handling various HR issues
- Assist in administration of all benefit plans including leaves of absence, COBRA and FMLA. Communicate with providers, vendors and employees
- Partner with managers on employee performance issues and communication
- Support and provide information on safety programs, OSHA compliance and workers compensation processes
- Identify and implement continuous improvement processes within the department
- Maintain compliance with State and Federal employment laws
- Assist in employee communication and company event planning
- Provides HR support, special projects and other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Requires Human Resource and Recruiting experience. Working with a production environment preferred.
- A self-starter, able to work efficiently independently and part of a team
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable interacting with various levels of an organization
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel). HRIS/Payroll system experience preferred
- General knowledge of employment laws and Human Resource practices
- Valid Driver’s license, travel required to Howard Lake location
