Hr/Payroll Specialist

Hazeltine Nurseries, Inc., Located in Venice, FL has an opening for an HR/Payroll Specialist to join our busy team and grow with us!

What do we do here? We are a landscape design build company with over 160 employees! We have a full team of architects, a construction installation department and a full-service Garden Maintenance Department as well as our very own retail center!

Company Location: 2401 N. River Road in Venice, FL

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Job Duties: A HR/Payroll Specialist at HNI is responsible for the following:

Provide support and assistance to managers and staff to communicate Human Resources and company policies, procedures and programs as requested as well as oversee the payroll process and be our safety champion.

• Responsible for overseeing all benefit management.
• Assists with recruiting, hiring and onboarding of all staff
• Acts as the Safety Manager and assists with safety topics, facilitating quarterly safety meetings and works to assist company in reducing accidents and injuries.
• Acts as company representative and completes all first reports of illness or injury, Assists to ensure completion of accident investigation and is the primary point of contact for employees and workers comp.
• Works to complete all Annual required documentation-OSHA 300, 1095C’s, and all Annual benefit census’ etc.
• Responsible for shadowing and learning the payroll process to be able to review, process and complete in the absence of the payroll associate.
• Must be able to self-manage but also be a team player.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bilingual a plus
