As the HR Generalist, you will play an integral role in maintaining accurate employee-related data in our HRIS System, ADP Workforce Now. You will also report on information within the system to contribute to an effective HR function, supporting the strategic goals of the organization. You will be a member of the Human Resources team, reporting directly to the HR Operations Manager.

Payroll- Implements, maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, (new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates).
- Ensure ADP Time and Attendance data is accurate and maintain system.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Process time off requests
- Cross-function collaboration with Human Resources.
- Partner with HR for Payroll communication and update to Associates.
- Processes Wage Garnishments and Stale Dated Checks.
- Ensures compliance with State Payroll Taxes.
- Conduct employment verifications to authorized personnel.
- Manage unemployment claims utilizing our People System management system.
HR Reporting & Analytics
- Partner with HR functional leads to define and track key metrics to measure the success of our people programs.
- Create and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports using a variety of HR data sources. Understand reporting requirements and translate them into custom reports, dashboards, and visualizations to deliver HR metrics that provide meaningful, data-driven insights.
- Perform complex data manipulation and aggregation of data from multiple HR data sources to provide a holistic view and insights that inform and support our business strategy.
- Ensure a high degree of data integrity and accuracy by performing regular data audits and partnering with stakeholders to resolve data issues.
- Supports General HR administrative functions and Ad Hoc projects, as needed
What you need to join the fun! (besides SUGAR)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- 2+ years of Payroll experience.
- Must be proficient with ADP Workforce payroll software.
- Strong working knowledge of PC applications including an advanced understanding of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Microsoft Access knowledge is preferable
- Must have Multi-state and Bi-weekly payroll processing experience.
- Canada Payroll processing experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
- Experience in the retail industry is a plus
