HR/Payroll Generalist
Description:
This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits, recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding, policy implementation, worker’s compensation, employment law compliance and project execution.
Responsibilities:
Process entire payroll cycle for all 5 companies including implementing efficiencies and ensure accuracy. (DEI, OA, DLL, DDI, and DCI)
- File quarterly and end of year payroll tax
- Complete monthly union payroll reporting (DCI)
- Maintain employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, training records and other key details.
- Manage active job openings and received applications, internal and external job postings.
- Reviews job applications for all positions (field and office); conducts and/or schedules preliminary interviews.
- Manage administration of employee benefits- including collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability to insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Assist with the administration of performance evaluations including preparing forms, coordinating evaluation meetings between managers and employees, ensuring adequate records are kept.
Plan and support company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and annual meeting(s)
- Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, and other compliance reviews.
- Manage unemployment claims/determinations and support employee questions/best practices
- All other duties as assigned.
Position requires:
- Full-time office hours 7 am – 4 pm Monday-Friday
- Preferred experience with QuickBooks Enterprise
- Proficiency with MS office suite
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written
- Ability to multitask and adjust to fluctuating work loads
