We are looking for a Payroll Manager to lead our client payroll functions. The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the payroll team, including payroll administration and processing, issue resolution and team management.
Our ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with PEO or Shared Services experience, a deep knowledge of payroll tax, and previous supervisory experience. We also value integrity, team spirit, and strong organizational skills.

Our Ideal Candidate
- Has a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources or related field preferred
- Comes with 5+ years of payroll processing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- PEO Payroll experience preferred
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Customer-service focused – we are in the business of caring for people who care for people
- Extremely organized, detail oriented and analytical
- Excellent communicator and problem-solver
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
What You’ll Be Doing
The essential functions of the Payroll Manager includes, but are not limited to the following:
Payroll Administration
- Provides advanced technical expertise and support to PEO worksite employees and clients in order to help resolve escalated issues.
- Responsible for all PEO client banking processes and advanced payroll audits and calculations including but not limited to: weighted overtime, payroll taxes, retro pay and holiday pay.
- Monitors, prioritizes, assigns and assists in completion of the payroll ticketing system and cases.
- Supervises the workflow to ensure the department’s role and function in the PEO supports the delivery of the highest possible standard of client service for clients and worksite employees – identifying opportunities and proposing thoughtful solutions.
- Monitors and measures team activities and productivity to ensure client satisfaction and retention objectives are being met.
- Assists in interview, selection, hiring and evaluating performance of Payroll Account Team to ensure all client and department needs are met.
- Assist in year-end payroll activities, other payroll tasks and projects.
Team Management

- Helps plan, organize and direct activities of Payroll Account Team engaged in ongoing payroll service.
