Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR Generalist who is friendly, enthusiastic and creative and who can make a positive impact in supporting our unique WOW! Magic Culture. In this role, you'll help us to provide exceptional customer service to over 370 amazing Colleagues throughout the organization while supporting our mission ofBringing Out the Best in Everyone We Touch, Because Every Life Matters. In this role you will be responsible for applying business knowledge and HR expertise while performing a wide range of functions to provide excellence in service. You'll play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship with Colleagues. This position carries out responsibilities in these functional areas: employee relations, recruiting & hiring, benefits administration, and policy implementation.

Employee Relations

  • Partner with VP, People & Culture & team to develop and implement programs aligned with our mission, values, and WOW! Magic culture.
  • Fosters positive employee relations and proactively work with managers to resolve issues and partner and advise management on decisions effecting Colleagues. Handles employee relations counseling, involuntary terminations, and exit interviewing.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to Colleagues in all interactions.
  • Partner with team/VP to assess and recommend new approaches to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed to improve Colleague experience.

Hiring and Retention

  • Support talent acquisition through recruitment and screening for all positions. Partner with recruiter to effectively correspond with candidates during the recruitment and hiring process. Track recruiting efforts and candidate information for monthly updates to management. Provide candidate status updates to Managers and Colleagues.
  • Support the posting of job postings and revision of job descriptions and work with HR Team and marketing to promote American Training as a great place to work.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-employment background checks (CORI) according to state laws, reference checks, and other requirements, as well as effectively corresponding with candidates during the recruitment process.
  • Partner with HR team to ensure a WOW! Magic onboarding experience for all new Colleagues.
  • Conducts WOW! Magic interviews for potential candidates.
  • Complete offer letters and separation notices if applicable.

Benefits and Payroll

  • Provide backup support in the processing of all payroll functions.
  • Supports the coordination of annual open enrollment, including claims resolution, and communicating benefits information to Colleagues.
  • Develop reports utilizing our systems and analyze data to present information to the management team.

Policies and Compliance

  • Assists in development and implementation of Colleague policies and procedures and partners with VP, People & Culture to maintain Colleague handbook. Train Colleagues and Managers proactively on HR policies and best practices.
  • Works closely with the VP of People & Culture on daily HR matters and issues.
  • Participates on various committees to ensure HR compliance for such certifications as CARF and DDS Survey and Certification.

Training & Development

  • Collaborate with VP, People & Culture to assess needs, design, develop, and implement Management training programs to increase the capabilities of our Managers and achieve company objectives.
  • Incorporate WOW! Magic culture into the development of ALL training programs and processes.

WOW! Magic Culture and Values

  • Participate and manage the facilitation of survey's for Colleagues feedback.
  • Embrace our mission and values in everyday communications and interactions. Bring Out the Best In Everyone We Touch because Every Life Matters.
  • Ability to implement WOW! Magic Principles and bring fun and entertainment to the People & Culture branch and the company as a whole.
  • Coordinates a variety of other HR related programs and or projects and serves on various committees as assigned; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in HR; maintains awareness of federal, state and local regulations and impact of changes on the company.
  • Supports People & Culture in implementing and administering Colleague Recognition programs, such as WOW! Magic Moments awards and annual Colleague Recognition to help improve the Colleague experience.
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to maintain in a fast-paced environment with a high energy level and be able to handle stress, and calmly respond to crisis situations. Must be able to lift and /or carry such articles as training supplies, files, and records. Must be able to drive to various sites. Hours are 8:00 am 4:30 pm. Must be able to work additional hours when needed.
