We are currently seeking a HR Generalist to add to our team! As focused as we are on our customer, we take that same focus on finding the right talent for the right opportunities within our organization. In short, as the HR Generalist you will work under the general direction of our Controller and help navigate multi-faceted HR functions for all departments within Snell Companies.
The HR Generalist is responsible for the coordination and administration of day-to-day people operations and payroll. This includes the recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, payroll processing and employee relations. As a HR Generalistwith Snell Motors, you will have an opportunity to help build strong employee programs that drive employee engagement, support management, and ensure company compliance within federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. This position works Monday – Friday.
“A day in the life of the HR Generalist looks like: ”
· Develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet staffing needs.
· Post job openings, conduct interviews of job applicants and coordinate the hiring of new employees.
· Conduct new employee orientation and complete new hire processes and paperwork.
· Assist in processing biweekly payroll
· Supports the FMLA leave administration process by acting as an on-site representative to ensure compliance
· Support Managers with employee disciplinary actions and is involved with employee coaching and development conversations
· Executes the exit interview process with all exiting employees
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, new technologies in human resources, recommended best practices and company policies
· Maintain and update human resources documentation including employee handbooks, job descriptions, training records, performance evaluation and personnel files
· Participates on the Safety Committee and assists with executing a safety focus for employees
· Serves as a backup to receptionist and switchboard by answering phones and transferring call
· Assists with annual benefit implementation to all staff
· Facilitation of companywide projects as assigned
· Preserves confidentiality of employee personnel files
What does it take to be the Human Resources Generalist?
· Possess a bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resource management or related field of study required
· Minimum 2-5 years human resources experience required
· Previous experience with ADP Payroll systems preferred
· In depth knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures
· Able to maintain high level of confidentiality because of exposure to sensitive information
· Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
