Job Summary:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for assisting the HR Director and HR Specialist with complex and specialized administrative tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the firm.
Job Type: Full-time, 8-hour shift
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, and other key details.
- Reviews and approves employee time & attendance information for payroll processing.
- Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; assists with external job postings.
- Reviews applications for non-exempt positions; conducts and/or schedules preliminary interviews.
- Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to payroll updates and approvals and staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
- Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
- Plans and supports firm-wide information meetings and communications related to open enrollment, new hire orientation, and retirement or benefits plans.
- Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

- Proficient with Microsoft Suite software.
Education and Experience:
- High School or equivalent (required); Associate’s degree (preferred)
- Experience in office setting (3 years preferred), (1 year in HR, highly preferred)
- Experience with HRIS (preferred)
- Experience in a law firm or legal service (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
