Your Role:
Execute human resources functions at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). Serve as a key management partner and a valuable employee resource. Responsibilities include staffing, employee relations, workplace policy interpretation and application, and handling accommodations and leaves of absence for assigned teams.
Pay, Schedule & Benefits:
- This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during daytime business hours. Occasional local travel and infrequent domestic expenses-paid travel required.

What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with management on supporting employees. Coach on workplace policies/procedures compliance, employee wellness, performance management, discipline, legal compliance, growth strategies, and other best practices. Maintain strong management partnerships.
- Manage staffing for assigned vacancies: partner with hiring managers, write job descriptions, review applications, coordinate and conduct interviews, and negotiate employment offers.
- Administer new hire onboarding, job changes, and separations. Conduct entrance and exit interviews.
- Review leaves of absence and workplace accommodation requests. Communicate procedural steps and requirements. Hold staff accountable to timelines and agreements. Maintain documentation and uphold legal compliance. Collaborate with Safety personnel on workers' comp cases.
- In partnership with HR Manager, investigate, address and monitor employee relations situations. Coach management on change management and conflict resolution, write scripts and communications, facilitate disciplinary actions, and use influence to guide teams back to a high-functioning state.
- Anticipate employee information needs. Communicate tactfully, safeguard confidentiality and promote healthy employee culture through positive, professional interactions.
- Keep abreast of employment law changes and labor-related trends, best practices and developments. Attend trainings to maintain industry knowledge.
- Develop, facilitate, and/or participate in HR programs and initiatives. Subjects include: DEI, internal equity, compensation, compliance, harassment prevention, supervisor training, performance, etc.
- Maintain detailed and complete documentation. Ensure accuracy, create reports, and analyze data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications:
- Commitment to support, promote, and authentically communicate FMSC's Christian mission and goals.
- Minimum of bachelor's degree and 3 years of human resources experience required. In lieu of degree, equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Advanced competencies with Microsoft Office required. Experience with HR software preferred.
- Proven collaboration, relationship-building, customer service, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Self-starter capable of exercising independent judgment with limited direct supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to use discretion and safeguard confidential information.
- Able to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
- Able to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.
Your Team:
- Work location: MN (Coon Rapids, Eagan), IL (Aurora, Schaumburg), AZ (Mesa) or TX (Richardson). Position will have flexible/hybrid work schedule that allows for both office and remote work, though some locations may be fully remote dependent on space availability. Reports to HR Manager.
