Purpose:
Manages the development, implementation and coordination of all personnel related policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws. Assists in achieving goals through productive and engaged employees. Oversees all aspects of payroll.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develops employee policies and procedures for the organization and counsels managers and employees on adherence to the policies.
- Executes Employee payroll on bi-weekly basis
- Serves as a member of the management team by assisting in development and implementation of the strategic plan.
- Develops and implements employee engagement programs which may include recognition and wellness
- Manages the compensation and benefit plans as well as worker compensation process for the organization
- Manages recruiting efforts for the organization including building relationships with local schools, assisting with candidate selection processes, and streamlining processes
- Manages performance evaluation process
- Oversees the administration of training and employee learning & development activities
- Monitors time reporting system to avoid payroll errors and works with department managers to resolve issues
- Resolves payroll related Employee questions and concerns
- Administers Employee on-boarding and off-boarding
- Maintains personnel files and vacation accruals
- Submits payroll tax payments and quarterly filings to appropriate agencies
- Oversee Employee scheduling system
- Administer Employee benefits programs such as health care and 401(k)
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in Human Resources activities such as payroll and benefits, staffing, employee development, training, legal compliance
- Knowledge of payroll contractual language
- Understands minimum wages laws, confidentiality policies, employee notification requirements, and other regulatory policies
- Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office
- High level attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Degree in Accounting/Finance/Human Resources discipline preferred
