Summary

Crisis Center North is actively seeking a Director of Programming for their location in Pittsburgh, PA. In this position, the Director will manage the operations of the organization with a strong emphasis on developing and implementing programming that focuses on serving victims of domestic violence. They will plan, implement, and evaluate programs and projects, and ensure that any programming is delivered on time, within budget, and according to their quality standards. The incumbent must possess strong project management skills and experience developing, managing, and controlling timelines, budgets, and schedules for projects.

This position is expected to be a hybrid role with a flexible schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, depending on business needs and events. The target start date for this position is March of 2024 with an anticipated range of $70 to 75,000 in annual salary plus benefits.

Critical parts of the job

  • Lead key program areas by providing direction and support to the divisional coordinators and employees.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff. Own the recruiting, hiring, and training of new employees in conjunction with the divisional coordinators.  
  • Assist with the development and tracking of short and long-term goals and performance objectives.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Develop procedures that assist in the flow of information throughout the organization to ensure seamless execution of grant contracts and other projects.
  • Coordinate program goals with senior leadership reporting these goals to the board of directors. Meet regularly with the President and CEO regarding divisions’ performance.
  • Assist with the development and preparation of grants and proposals for PCADV and PCCD along with foundations and other sources of revenue. The position sustains existing funding and works on securing new funding for programming.
  • Align programs with organizational goals and objectives to measure and evaluate program effectiveness and results.
  • Assists in the planning, tracking, and execution of the organization’s strategic plan.

What this position will be focused on:

Key Programs Leader – They will be accountable for the daily operations of key programs for the organization. This can include the development, funding, implementation, and optimization of these programs.

People Leader – They will manage their most valuable resource, their people. The Director will engage, motivate, mentor, and guide the employees that run the programs they spearhead. They will own the Human Resources processes for the employees that they are responsible for including hiring, onboarding, training, and their direct reports' ongoing professional development.

Communications Wizard – They will be the communications hub for CCN’s programs. This includes communications with everyone involved in the success of all their existing and new key programs, both internal and external. You will work closely with leadership to ensure that they know the status of what’s going on within the organization.

  • An ability to work directly with the President & CEO to execute the strategic vision of the center.

The Nice to Haves

  • Proven ability to develop programs.
  • A deep understanding of the daily operations of a victim services non-profit organization is helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Excel, Adobe, and other productivity software helpful.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or a combination of education and experience in a victim services-related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in managing people and operations, preferably in the non-profit space.

About our client

Crisis Center North is a 501(c)(3) non-profit counseling and resource center that provides services to victims of domestic violence and their loved ones in northern and western Allegheny County via counseling, therapy, case management, legal and medical advocacy, and economic empowerment services. In addition, the Center provides community training on topics related to intimate partner violence and teen dating violence, as well as prevention education programming to local schools.

The mission of Crisis Center North is to empower victims of domestic violence and cultivate attitudes and community behaviors that break the cycle of violence.

In 1978, thirteen women joined forces and devoted their time, effort, and resources to establish the North Hills Women’s Center (NHWC). They developed a specialized program of intervention, support, and educational services for victims of DV in the northern and western regions of Allegheny County. In November of 1982, NHWC was incorporated as Crisis Center North (CCN). In 1983, CCN became a program member of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV).
