Shift Type: Monday thru Friday 8am-4:30pm, hours can vary based on facility needs. MOD day approx. once per month on a weekend day shift.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function at the facility level. Implements all Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures. Preferred candidate with have background in long-term care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and assists department heads with selection of qualified employees to fill vacant position. Lead Weekly Recruitment and Retention meeting with key facility staff to brainstorm and incorporate recruitment and retention plans.
- Prepare offer letters and rejection responses.
- Schedule and participate in new employee orientation programs. Ensure that pre-orientation procedures are completed and that new hires are oriented in a timely fashion.
- Maintains appropriate records of benefit plan participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hire, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics as required for government reporting.
- Coordinates, schedules, and may present training programs.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers and coordinates performance evaluation program to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
- Administers benefit programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Investigates employee incidents and accidents and prepares required reports and ensures timely reporting of all incidents.
- Responsible for filling out and maintain all unemployment claims
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interview.
- Maintains a monthly employee newsletter
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum three years experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in a nursing home or health care environment is preferred.
- Required: Strong background in recruitment and retention.
