The BHR Department Lead serves as the primary liaison to the Center Leads representing each business segment to develop HR strategies that support the company’s goals. The Business HR Department Leader also directs a team of BHR team members to deliver like services to Business Units and Plants. The BHR Department Leader combines experience in various HR functions and strong business acumen to work with business leaders to develop HR strategies that support recruiting, onboarding, growth and retention of employees while ensuring that these people strategies are closely aligned with organization-wide strategic planning. The BHR Department Leader shares insight to the Human Resources Leadership team various business insight and needs to strategic discussions.
- Provide leadership to the business maintaining strategic alignment between the business and HR for assigned area of oversight and responsibility.
- Champion the HR agenda with business leaders and ensure alignment of the business with HR policies and programs.
- Leads, develops, and builds a highly engaged and diverse team of BHR partners.
- Partner with senior business leaders and HR CoE’s to provide HR solutions to meet business needs.
- Direct and propose cross-functional projects or themes related to HR transformation initiatives to support internal company requirements.
- Drives organization effectiveness efforts across HDMA business, manufacturing, and development functions to ensure business results and direction are achieved.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience
- Advanced degree, or certification, highly preferred
- 10+ years’ experience within Human Resources, or equivalent
- Cross functional experience within HR (e.g., T&D, OD, Staffing, AR)
- Leadership experience with proven results; ideally at Department or Division level
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels.
- Ability to create and foster business relationships with Business Leaders
- Demonstrated success in managing teams with high level of associate engagement
- Innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
- Business Acumen/Orientation
- Demonstrated ability to work at levels – Strategic, operational, and tactical.
- Strong facilitation/presentation skills
- Thorough knowledge of human resources practices including organizational design, talent management, and culture/change management
