SUMMARY:

As an integral member of the Human Resources team, you will provide critical support in the administration and implementation of the company wide health, welfare, retirement, and related benefits programs and perks. You will be responsible for providing our team members with exceptional service as you consult with and educate them on fully leveraging their benefits packages. As a result, this role requires a high level of collaboration, initiative, follow through, process improvement, and strong communication skills. Additionally, the right candidate will have the opportunity and be open to assisting with onboarding, employee relations, HR projects, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide benefits administration support to all team members, including health and welfare plans, COBRA, FSA, leave of absence, 401(k), worker’s compensation, and wellness programs.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party partners, benefits providers, and insurance brokerage firms.
  • Oversee Leave of Absence administration including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA and reasonable accommodations.
  • Counsel employees regarding policies, procedures, and other concerns as they relate to benefits.
  • Coordinate the benefits open enrollment process.
  • Manage employee benefits and engagement program initiatives.
  • Develop and implement internal communications related to benefits programs and events.
  • Plan and conduct wellness events and benefits presentations.
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of HR systems.
  • Serve as point of contact and support for all HR contributions to audits.
  • Ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist HR Ops Manager with development and recommendation of new benefits programs or reevaluation/analysis of current benefit programs.
  • Create and run reports, reconcile vendor invoices, and perform related administrative functions.
  • Conduct or assist with special projects in Human Resources and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline or equivalent work experience in HR.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of similar benefits administration experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws such as ACA, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, IRS regulations and other applicable federal and state laws.
  • Experience in other HR disciplines including employee relations, performance management, learning & development, etc.
  • A service-oriented, people-first mindset coupled with an unrelenting commitment to honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior.
  • A high degree of maturity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Flexibility and adaptability under change.
  • Team-orientation; actively participating to foster a positive work environment with peers.

Certifications:

  • SHRM-CP preferred.

Any applicable system or program knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (Paylocity a plus).
  • Intermediate proficiency in the use of computers, including Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for long periods at a time.

  • Occasional lifting of office supplies up to 20 lbs.
  • Vision abilities including close vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must understand and follow a set of clear oral and/or written procedures without deviation.
  • Performs repetitive routine tasks.
  • Withstand moderate amounts of stress.
  • Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
  • Perform tasks that vary little from day to day.
  • Implements others’ decisions/procedures with little judgment required.
  • Must relay information orally.
