Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated People and Culture Specialist to join our team at Nextech. This role is instrumental in supporting the company with various projects aimed at maintaining Nextech’s positive culture, ensuring an exceptional employee and client experience. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of HR expertise, strong organizational skills, and a genuine passion for creating a positive work environment.

Essential Functions
- Benefits Team Support:
- Consult with employees regarding FMLA, STD, and other applicable leaves.
- Manage employee leave calendars and oversee benefits premiums.
- Monitor new hire benefits enrollments and coordinate changes with payroll.
- Provide backup support for all benefits-related duties as required.
- General People and Culture Support:
- Assist in planning and executing in-house and offsite employee events, celebrations, and team activities.
- Order and manage new hire and life event gifts (e.g., baby blankets, flowers, sympathy packages).
- Support the People & Culture team and Employee Belonging Groups with various tasks, projects, and events.
- Assist in the preparation of expense reports for the HR Team and manage purchase orders, payables, budgets, and vendor relationships for HR-related vendors.
- Contribute to the creation and operation of an employee “Swag Store.”
- Serve as a backup for general tasks, such as I-9 processing, when necessary.
- Office Visitation Support:
- Visit the office 2-3 times a week to assist with office management needs, including employee badging, coordinating visitors, and ordering office supplies.
- Manage HR mail, including scanning and emailing items to appropriate recipients.
- Act as a point of contact for building management and vendors concerning facilities.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Undertake other ad hoc projects or tasks as assigned based on business needs.
Minimum Requirements
- 1-3 years of general HR and benefits experience in a corporate environment.
- Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate challenges and actively seek solutions.
- Commitment to working with integrity and discretion.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and comfortable with Excel.
- Ability to think on both a short-term and long-term scale
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Tech Environment: Prior experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment is a plus.
- Cultural: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an inclusive workplace.
- Project Management Skills: Experience in managing HR projects or initiatives with proven organizational and planning capabilities.
Working Environment/Physical Demands
- Work Environment: Primarily a remote role, with 2-3 times per week in our Tampa, FL headquarters for specific office-related duties.
- Physical Demands: Involves handling small boxes and packages under 25lbs, utilizing tools like a dolly or team assistance when necessary.
