A Safe Place is the sole provider of services exclusively addressing domestic violence and human trafficking in Lake County, Illinois. Through multi-faceted programs we assist victims in transforming their lives after violence, prevent future abuse by addressing its root cause through abuser intervention programs, and educate the community about domestic violence and human trafficking and how we can all be involved in ending them. A Safe Place is a recognized 501(c)3 listed under Lake County Crisis Center for the Prevention & Treatment of Domestic Violence Inc.

The Zion Housing Administrative Assistant(Part Time 19.5 hrs) will handle all administrative support and clerical services to the Zion Campus Team. Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of Zion Housing and works closely with all programs.

Position is located in Zion, IL.

Housing Administrative Assistant RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists Director of Housing with maintaining housing waitlist which includes communication with clients, scheduling appointments, completing housing assessments and receiving incoming housing applications.
• Admin Assistant Assists program staff by scheduling clients for supportive services.
• Processing assistance requests.
• Ordering supplies as requested.
• Maintaining all paperwork. This includes but not limited to tracking information necessary for grant reports, maintaining housing paperwork, and others deemed necessary (e.g. hotel, food, transportation logs).
• Assist clients’ routine questions/needs and/or advise them on updates.
• Maintain client case management files, and bookkeeping activities related to grant agreement requirements including statistics and outcome data. Input data into infonet or any data system per grant requirements.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and other trainings and meetings as requested.
• Works as a team player in the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Part Time Admin Assistant QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 Years of Administrative Experience with proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, data entry and other needed software (training provided).
• Must be available on Wednesdays. Remaining days worked/hours are flexible and will be discussed.
• Maintain confidentiality with regards to sensitive client information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities as needed, work independently and as a team..
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.

Ability to accept, to understand, and to relate sensitively to people of varied socio-economic, racial, cultural, and experiential backgrounds.
