Hostler- Nights 2-2-3 Schedule
Yard Drivers are required to move trailers within the yard and shuttle loads as applicable. This may include hooking air and electric lines, raising and lowering dolly legs, releasing 5th wheel from the king pin, opening and closing trailer doors. Additional dock responsibilities may include loading and pallet handling process; working with the LGVs (Laser Guided Vehicles), shipping, and receiving systems. This includes checking outbound trailers prior to loading, monitoring LGV activity in the warehouse, following SOPs to maintain inventory accuracy, prepping loads for cross country shipments and customer requirements, and all while maintaining a clean, and safe work environment.
Essential Functions
- Maintain accurate logs and all other DOT required paperwork on a daily basis
- Inspects Trailers
- Move trailers on Niagara property as instructed by supervisor or leads
- Maintains radio or telephone contact with supervisor or leads to receive instructions
- Crank trailer dollies up and down as required
- Conduct pre and post trip inspections on all equipment daily
- Report any equipment issues or accidents to your supervisor immediately
- Open and close trailer doors as required before placing in a loading door
- Unload finished goods and raw material deliveries utilizing a forklift
- Monitors Loads
- Corrects LGV alarms
- Clears up blocked locations in WMS
- Manually pulls pallets from production as needed
- Maintains pallet storage area; offloads pallets from trailers and stage for LGV's to pick up
- Corrects product spills
- Operates a forklift
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job

- Class A CDL license
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Semi-Tractor/Trailer Experience
