Job Title: Hemp Director of Business Development
Reports To: CRO

Job Summary:
The Hemp Director of Business Development is responsible for the sales of laboratory services across the globe. The Hemp Director of Business Development delivers revenue growth for assigned geography/accounts by creating new business opportunities, expanding the existing sales pipeline, as well as retaining and growing existing accounts.
The HDBD is responsible for delivering revenue growth through new business opportunity assessments, intelligence gathering, strategic planning and plan execution. The HDBD represents the company in the business community, cultivating relationships to attract business opportunities to the organization and fostering strategic partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead analysis across markets and portfolio to determine potential growth opportunities.
- Perform analysis of market positioning and operations of new business opportunity targets
- Maintain relationships between the organization and existing businesses.
- Develop new sources of Business through direct dialogue with industry leaders and leveraging Networks.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with people inside and outside the organization including Corporate and Lab staff, Industry Associations, Regulatory forums, and other market relevant groups
- Identify clients' needs and ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions to meet customer needs and objectives
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships; develop trusted advisory relationships with key accounts to retain current clients
- Partner and collaborate with company RDBD’s in support of company Revenue growth
- Negotiate and close transactions; close contracts with new clients
- Utilize company CRM for sales/customer documentation
- Visit client sites for assessment, relationship building, new business opportunity exploration etc.
- Provide laboratory tours to clients and prospective clients

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Min 5 years sales experience with proven results and progressive experience in key account management required
- Previous customer service experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry
- Knowledge of CRM systems and development of summary reports and dashboards
- Strategic thinker with ability to analyze complex data and trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Good written and verbal communication skills to convey and receive information effectively (face-toface, telephone and electronic)
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel and/or financial data
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously while achieving set outcomes
- Good analytical skills to interpret complex rules and regulations and good judgment skills
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks, manage time and plan, coordinate and expedite work projects

Work Environment:
The work environment includes client and office locations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required to travel to company and customer locations and in so doing will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Work Schedule:
- 40 to 45-hour work week Monday through Friday
- Travel during the day and overnight - to other client and prospect locations, attend seminars, training and/or conferences as needed

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
