JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Grant Writer/Manager will be responsible for researching and identifying potential grant opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, meeting narrative reporting requirements, and building and maintaining positive relationships with grant funders.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Determining funding needs for the organization in collaboration with management staff.
• Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
• Maintain a shared funding calendar to track grant opportunity and reporting deadlines.
• Develop and write original, compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and impact.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of the grant process, including writing, preparing, collecting letters of support and MOUs, submitting grant applications, generating narrative reports, managing grant reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions, and closing out grant files for audit.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure that grant proposals align with program goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with consortium partners, sometimes as lead applicant, to spearhead grant applications by contacting potential partners, developing forms to collect partner data, and compiling all input into one cohesive application.
• Maintaining library of Grant support documents including, resumes, bios, IRS forms, Board/staff diversity lists, etc.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with grant funders, including regular communication and engagement.
• Collaborate with finance staff to ensure that grant budgets are accurate and aligned with program goals.
• Maintain grant files, including proposals, reports, and other correspondence both physically and electronically.
• Support strategic development efforts and execution of fundraising strategies and initiatives.
• Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets – taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness, including:
- Monitoring and maintaining funder reporting schedules and requirements.
- Tracking progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals.
- Drafting compelling progress reports and targeted program updates to funders that fully capture programmatic success.
- Maintain organization-wide program statistics on the outcomes of each department in order to report progress to funders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 1+ Year of experience Grant Writing and reporting grant deliverables.

• Demonstrated commitment to economic, racial, and social justice and an understanding of the ways institutions and systems hurt communities of color through both conscious and unconscious bias.
• Flexibility and adaptability in working with a growing non-profit.
• Advanced proficiency of the written and spoken English language.
• Excellent writing skills, the ability to write clearly, creatively, and compellingly.
• Attention to detail in order to ensure error-free proposals.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and partners.
• Strong communication and administrative skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects.
• Time management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and work efficiently, with little oversight.


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Background screening through Washington State Patrol
• Ability to work flexible schedule to include evening and or weekend when necessary
• Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment
• Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing work described
• Continuation of this position is dependent on achievement of performance goals and availability of funding



WORK LOCATION: ANEW Main Office and Training Center at 18338 Andover Park W, Tukwila, WA and, on rare occasion, Satellite locations as assigned. This position is eligible to work-from-home up to two days per week after completion of 90-day probationary term and upon agreement with the Director of Finance.


WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8:30am–4:30pm


SALARY

This is an exempt position with a starting salary range of $73,000 - $77,480 per year. This position is grant funded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding. The starting salary rate is based on education and experience.


BENEFITS
The successful candidate is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will take effect 60 days after the first of the month following the hire date. Employer paid benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and participation in a 401k plan.


A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees who work 30 hours per week or more qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of $80 per month for the employee. Employees who work 20 hours per week pay 25% of their benefits. Employees who work less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for paid benefits. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay and taxes as required by law. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits. ANEW also contributes a 4% match to a 401K after one Year of employment.
