Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, this position provides senior level service, business intelligence, marketing, and contract development for Grant PUD Large Customers. Manages the relationship of industrial accounts by advocating within the Utility for new key customers seeking service. Advises and coordinates strategic and daily utility issues facing customers from services supplied through Grant PUD.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Exercise independent and firm decision making on policy and procedures related to establishing new industrial accounts and marketing the vast utility services of Grant PUD; influence management and staff within the Utility to craft protocols and respond effectively and appropriately to key customers; collaborate with new and potential industrial customers to pursue new and expansive utility service projects.
- Assist and advocate in the development and management of customer agreements; oversee and coordinate the analysis of key customer accounts including strategic or confidential planning issues, outage coordination, and infrastructure needs; coordinate efforts with Power Delivery Engineering and new customers; consistently develop, market, and implement products and services offered to industrial and large key customers.
- Develop conceptual service design options for new customers including delivery transmission and distribution strategies; provide schedules and report the economic benefits of working with Grant PUD; maintain a productive relationship with assigned customers by understanding their business, electric energy usage, systems, equipment, and processes.
- Evaluate customer power services, consumption/load patterns, and general usage for savings and improvements; conduct interviews with industrial customers to identify new needs and gaps in services; facilitate customer understanding of industry issues, rates, pending legislation, and the impacts to operations; accomplish tasks within tight schedules and demanding time targets.
- Communicate regularly with customers; prepare plan of service for new and potential accounts, draft service agreements, maintain various correspondence, records, and files; represent Grant PUD at professional and community activities and functions; assist with economic development opportunities as necessary; promote Grant PUD’s conservation efforts with potential customers.
- Advocate for a culture of safety amongst staff and customers by attending all safety meetings and adhering to all safety laws, guidelines, and requirements; demonstrate a commitment to safety standards by ensuring customers are given a safety review in all meetings and negotiations.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
- Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. The incumbent should be familiar with these organizational priorities and behave in a way that aligns with these expectations.
- Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.

o Following all safety policies and procedures.
o Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
o Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor.
o Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.
Education and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Energy Management, Planning or equivalent.
- 5+ years’ experience in customer service, delivery, marketing, and/or management.
License and Certification
Required
- A valid Washington State driver’s license with no restrictions.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Concepts, principles, theories, and methods surrounding large customer care; sales and account management methods to provide outstanding customer service; project management tools and techniques; financial competences with an attention toward detail; contract and service negotiation and follow up; energy regulations and efficiency.
- Skill in technical experience in Distribution and Transmission services; project management; written and oral interpersonal communication; identifying and analyzing potential problems; utilizing MS office products; customized financial, billing, and customer service software, tools, and applications.
