General Description:
Performs highly advanced (senior-level) professional assistance work for the Director of Security Operations and Security Operations staff. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May occasionally receive instruction or assistance as new, unusual, or unique situations arise and/or assist others in performing work of greater complexity. May advise executives on administrative policies and procedures. May conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation by executives. Assist with preparation of financial statements. Prepare administrative assignments, programs, and other administrative matters within a division, department, or agency.

Essential Job Elements:
- Act as liaison between various internal and external parties to assist in coordination of scheduled activities.
- Compile and prepare all correspondence for various customers, including letters, memoranda, and various vouchers.
- Compile information for and type all monthly reports.
- Participate in the production of the detail’s schedule and process incoming mail and distribute as necessary.
- Assist Detail members with car books, weekly reports, expense accounts, and other GLO and related paperwork.
- Thoroughly inspect documents for accuracy, completion, and inclusion of supplemental documents.
- Answer telephones and take messages for Director as necessary.
- Maintain files and/or route documents through appropriate channels.
- Maintain inventory records of property assigned to the Detail.
- Assist Director and Detail members with a variety of other administrative support duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience and Education may substitute for one another.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Regulatory knowledge – Departmental organization, personnel, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Office skills - Ability to type accurately at moderate speed. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a calculator, facsimile and copier machines, and a multi-line telephone.
- Computer skills – Proficient with personal computers and various software; e.g. spreadsheets, word processing, databases, desk-top publishing, and modern business office practices.
- Organizational skills – Ability to organize and prioritize own work and to perform work independently. Ability to perform different tasks or projects simultaneously and adapt to a fluctuating workload and frequent interruptions.
- Communication skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to compose routine business correspondence, including letters/memoranda/reports. Proficient in English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Interpersonal skills – Must exercise excellent interpersonal skills – position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public.
