General Manager

We are currently recruiting a General Manager for a restaurant concept in downtown Minneapolis! The ideal candidate will be people-driven and focused on amazing service and hospitality. This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to take that next step in their management career!

• Direct and supervise employees on a daily basis
• Assist with the interviewing, hiring, training, development and retention of employees.
• Work hands on with all FOH/BOH positions
• Follow up with employees and co-workers to ensure completion of assigned projects.
• Identify, address and document individual employee performance problems according to company handbook
• Delegate responsibilities to the staff accordingly
• Lead pre shift, manager, and P&L meetings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
• Uphold company policies and requirements of employment laws
• Become proficient in all job functions of both front and back of house employees
• Perform varied duties to ensure proper restaurant operation according to standard operating procedure.
• Address customer complaints and problems effectively and courteously on an as needed basis.
• Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation.
• Comprehend and adhere to all sanitation guidelines as prescribed by federal, state, and local regulations.
• Comply with all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs to ordering manager.
• Communicate repair and maintenance needs to General Manager and/or appropriate repair source.
• Become proficient in the use of equipment and utensils related to the operation of the restaurant.
• Become proficient in the use of all restaurant computer equipment
• Inventory and order appropriate restaurant supplies i.e. liquor, food, linen, paper goods, cleaning supplies, general restaurant supplies etc.
• Perform and extend an end of the month and/or weekly inventory.
• Move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces.
• Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers, partners and guests.

• Minimum of 2 years experience in full service restaurant management as an AGM or GM
• Strong wine knowledge/experience is preferred, Sommelier certification would be ideal
• Proven leadership ability and track record
• Familiarity with managing restaurant financials is a plus, but not required
• Knowledge and experience with various POS systems (Toast, Aloha, Micros, etc.)
• Systems knowledge and experience i.e. ordering, inventory, scheduling
• Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate responsibilities
• Entrepreneurial attitude and proactive approach to management
• Attention to detail and sense of urgency

• Salary $70,000-$80,000 DOE
• Quarterly and annual bonus potential
• 5 day work week
