Job Summary:

To coordinate the programs and day-to-day functions of Student Advocacy Services, specifically, the Relationship Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention (RVSP) Program. Responsible for development, implementation and coordination of prevention programs including assessing needs and evaluating outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate guest speakers, workshops, events and film series to address sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, bystander. intervention and online personal safety.
  • Coordinate efforts to provide education for incoming students (First Year, Transfer, Graduate, Athletes, and International) through orientation programs, information distribution and web-based education.
  • Recruit, select, train, and guide peer educators and advocates who will implement workshops, trainings and campus wide programming.
  • Supervise undergraduate interns in the planning of awareness month outreach programming; Red Flag Campaign, Clothesline Project, Community Resource Fair, and Take Back the Night.
  • Develop inclusive & intersectional curriculum, programming, presentations, and materials for resident halls, classroom, & student organizations.
  • Establish and maintain liaison relationships to specialized campus populations such as transfer and commuter students, international students, students with disabilities athletics and academic affairs.
  • Works with the Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) and the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) to provide referral and resource information to students, staff, and faculty upon request.
  • Assist in the review of policy and procedures for Title IX complainants.
  • Maintain university website ensuring accurate and correct university and community resource information.
  • Assist with departmental assessment including writing reports, developing learning outcomes and overseeing program evaluation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in higher education, student personnel services or health promotion, social work, counseling, addiction/alcohol studies, psychology, public health or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity with college students or adolescents in community groups.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal mandates and best practice in the field of violence prevention programming and threat assessment.
  • Experience working with college students in a programmatic and advisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with college/university students in sexual assault prevention, crisis management, and programming and event planning.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, Title IX and Clery.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Maintains knowledge of university policy and procedures, student development and counseling theories, and trauma informed practices.
