Donut Star is expanding! We're growing to a second location and are looking for an experienced hospitality manager to take on a General Manager role. The GM will work closely with ownership and our Executive Pastry Chef to operate both locations. The GM will mostly work out of our primary location, but will split time with new location as well.
We're seeking a motivated, inspired, fun individual, who wants to help us continue on our growth trajectory. We have lofty goals for our shop, and want to bring on someone who shares our vision and passion. The General Manager will be responsible for all FOH operations at both locations, with the help of an Assistant Store Manager and numerous counter staff and support staff.

Human Resources & Scheduling:
● Makes hiring decisions for FOH staff
● Communicates with Executive Pastry Chef and ownership about appropriate pay rates
● Schedules all FOH employees and Managers
● Assists Executive Pastry Chef with staffing needs for BOH
● Communicates with Executive Pastry Chef and ownership regarding employee issues
● Responsible for disciplinary action as needed for FOH staff
Training & Coaching:
● Maintains service standards and consistency
● Develops training procedure and protocols for all areas of service
● Coaches counter team members on proper procedures
● Checks in with staff daily to make sure they are on time and fit to work
● Sets training schedules and ensures staff are hitting required checkpoints for adequate training
Sanitation & Food Safety:
● Oversees counter area and dish area cleanliness and organization
● Knows and understands food safety guidelines
● Sets procedures for FOH staff that adhere to MDH guidelines
Repairs, Maintenance, & Upkeep:
● Coordinates with Executive Pastry Chef for any equipment issues
● Informs ownership of malfunctioning equipment and necessary repairs
● Coordinates repair and maintenance with outside vendors as appropriate
● Ensures maintenance procedures for equipment are being followed by all staff
Communication & Culture:
● Communicates with Executive Chef and ownership concerning guest satisfaction
● Responds in a timely manner to guest inquiries (voicemail, email, social media)
● Responds accordingly to online reviews, rectifies issues where possible to ensure a positive brand image
● Attends weekly meetings with ownership
● Consistently communicates any issues or opportunities
● Ensures ALL staff are informed of brand direction, standards, and expectations
● Maintains a positive, friendly, team-oriented culture
Marketing and Brand Development:
● Seeks out new and interesting opportunities to grow the Donut Star brand
● Coordinates social media efforts to match company goals
● Monitors and interacts with our community, in person and online
● Uses market data and customer feedback to help shape company direction
Ordering and Cost Management:
● Manages Beverage inventory and orders as needed
● Coordinates FOH needs with Executive Chef for timely ordering
Service Management:
● Oversees all aspects of counter service
● Manages all pre-orders and ensures communication of orders to team
● Ensures inventory counts are completed by counter staff as appropriate
● Handles guest issues and complaints immediately with a focus on retaining customers and ensuring they are satisfied
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
