Full Time Medical Assistant/Hospital Follow Up Coordinator

VilMed, Inc. is seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Full-Time Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep our Infectious Disease Specialist Practice running smoothly.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Answer phone calls.
• Schedule and confirm appointments including hospital Follow ups.
• Obtain medical records from different hospital facilities.
• Prepare patients’ electronic chart and communicate with primary care practices to obtain medical records and referral.
• Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff.
• Clean, prepare and stock exam rooms.
• Obtain and record patients’ vitals.
• Interview patients and record medical their history in our EMR system.
• Act as a back up to the lab technician in performing venipunctures and administering injections/immunizations.
• Collect specimens.

​Qualifications needed:

• Previous experience in healthcare.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Previous experience with EHR systems- eClinical Works experience is a plus!
• Previous experience with laboratory requisitions and e-prescribing.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Previous experience in performing venipunctures and administering injections is preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish (Fluent) Required.
