Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. The person in this position interacts with the client, and patients, in a professional and courteous manner and performs with confidence. Specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers appropriately.
- Specimens are collected accurately and on time.
- Collects specimens according to procedures.
- Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids. Disposes of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
- Completes requisitions accurately.
- Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into a computer.
- Researches test/client information utilizing a lab computer system.
- Laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Package specimens for pickup according to test requirements.
- Maintains records and documentation.
- Demonstrates organizational skills.
- Adheres to company code of grooming lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times.
- Utilizes time appropriately.
- Displays courteous and professional behavior to clients, patients, and co-workers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant Certification is Required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 year of prior job-related experience
