Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the accounting department by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to assist with decision-making processes. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Job Description
- Provide timely and accurate general ledger account reconciliation and analysis
- Support and monitor lease accounting, ensuring accurate data input and adherence to group standards
- Track and evaluate tangible and intangible assets including actively managing asset enrollment and validation and reporting to internal stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to design new and/or refine existing analyses and processes to improve the asset management accuracy and efficiency over time
- Establish proper accounting and reporting of inventory
- Oversee various month end closing activities and prepare group consolidation reporting data
- Support in bridging the gap between different ERP systems and general ledgers to optimize accounting transparency and ease of reporting
- Support team in preparation of financial audits, both internal and external
- Manage, improve, and document various accounting processes
- Deliver monthly financial close reporting deck and planning cycle reports, including flux analysis
- Performing ad hoc analysis and projects to support leadership initiatives
- Identify and implement solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify accounting processes
- Partnering with other teams and business partners to standardize reporting and forecasting mechanisms.
- Perform ad hoc project analysis, as required.
- Assist in development of models for budgeting, forecasting, 5-year plan as well as other ad hoc analysis including budget reviews with senior management
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related field
- 3+ years' experience in accounting, with progressive responsibility
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Knowledge of GAAP and compliance requirements
- Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as Certified Public Accounting (CPA) or Certified Management Accounting (CMA)
- Experience working in Workday and Fleetio
- Waste industry experience
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
Salary: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00
