We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper + Assistant. As a Bookkeeper + Assistant , you will play a vital role in implementing and processing our accounting and ensuring accurate financial records. Our company operates several family owned businesses in the outdoor retail, design boutique, and electrical products industry. Office space within a relaxed work environment will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting
- Assist with payroll processing and maintaining employee records
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate accounting records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards
- Provide support for audits and assist in preparing necessary documentation
Skills:
- Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of debits, credits, and general ledger
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Experiential knowledge of Quickbooks Online
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial analysis
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Requirements:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or related field preferred
- Knowledge of payroll processing is a plus
- Familiarity with government accounting regulations is a plus
