Front Office Assistant (Maternity Leave Coverage)
FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Head of School
HOURS: 7:30am - 4:30pm
POSITION SUMMARY: This opening is to cover Maternity Leave for the front desk. This position helps ensure the efficiency and organization of Front Office operations by performing a wide range of clerical and administrative duties in a school setting. This requires routine handling of sensitive materials and being privy to situations that warrant a commitment to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality. This position requires a high level of professional decorum, calmness, and the ability to independently address problems of a varied nature while acting as a role model to young people.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet parents students and teachers.
- Answer incoming calls and emails.
- Assist with supporting tracking of attendance and lunches.
- Support with making copies (photocopying).
- Assist with student support needs.
- Provide support to the school leadership team on the daily operations of the school.
- Support students with basic first aid.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
Must possess a minimum of an Associates Degree and two years of office experience. Prior experience working with school aged-children is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Proficient computer skills, including finding files on SharePoint and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
· Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Possess the ability to maintain confidentiality in specific situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands and work environment described below represent the activities and surroundings of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The environment may include occasional moderate to loud noise. The work requires regular focus on a computer screen and precise control of fingers and hand movements. The incumbent must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 20 pounds and may also be required on occasion. Occasional attendance at meetings or other activities outside of normal working hours may be required.
