Job Description
We're seeking a part-time Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic outpatient Physical Therapy Rehabilitation clinic in Port Orange. This position, initially at 3-4 days per week, has the potential to transition into a full-time role. As the secondary receptionist in our bustling Port Orange office, you'll also be expected to support other offices within the same territory.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests, directing them to the appropriate person and office.
- Ensure a tidy and presentable reception area, stocked with necessary materials.
- Answer phones, check-in patients, and manage registration forms in the EMR.
- Conduct insurance verifications and process payor authorizations promptly.
- Schedule patients based on referrals and authorizations, including workers' compensation, LOPs, and auto accident patients.
- File and retrieve medical records, collect co-pays, deductibles, and past-due balances.
- Perform daily closing batch and balance merchant services to the patient financial ledger.
- Operate office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, and phone systems.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as drafting correspondences and organizing files.
- Complete forms, schedule appointments, and ensure patient needs are met courteously.
- Track patient no-shows and cancellations, maintain electronic filing systems, and manage authorizations.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Receptionist or Front Office Representative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment operation.
- Professional attitude, appearance, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resourcefulness, proactive problem-solving, and strong organizational skills.
- Multitasking and time-management abilities with a customer service attitude.
- High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus.
Schedule:
- Part-time (initially 3-4 days per week), with the potential to transition to full time.
- Monday to Friday.
- Weekend availability is a plus as some offices will offer weekend sessions during busy season.
Education and Experience:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred).
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred).
- Medical terminology and computer skills: 1 year (Preferred).
