Assignments will vary, but will include the following responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and defense industry requirements.
Conduct regular financial forecasting and analysis to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators to track the company's financial performance.
Corporate Accounting and Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Bookkeeping is essential
Generate customized financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, executive management, and regulatory authorities as needed.
Lead regular meetings to discuss financial reports.
Cost Management and Budget Control:
Collaborate with directors to manage and control expenses, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within the defense industry's regulatory framework.
Compliance and Regulatory Management:
Stay current with defense industry regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting standards.
Ensure financial practices and reporting adhere to government regulations, industry-specific guidelines, and internal policies and processes.
Development, implementation, and management of corporate financial policies and procedures. Specifically, upkeep of the Financial Management and Compliance Handbook.
Contract and Project Financial Management:
Collaborate with project managers to provide financial reporting and oversight for defense contracts.
Monitor project financial performance, assess risks, and ensure compliance with contractual financial terms.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow by forecasting and planning for short-term and long-term funding needs.
Optimize cash flow through effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and working capital.
Financial Strategy and Decision Support:
Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic business decisions related to investments, expansion, and resource allocation.
Assess the financial feasibility of new business opportunities within the defense and commercial industry landscape.
Proposal pricing development and review of all pricing efforts.
Human Resources:
Administer payroll, retirement benefits, and support employees with questions or concerns.
Support workers compensation audits.
As a multi-state employer, support compliance requirements for new and current states.
The stand-alone role is dynamic and involves collaboration across different physical locations and multiple time zones and supports corporate and client needs.
