General Manager

Andersen Commercial Plumbing, recognized as Southern California's Top Service Commercial Companies, is currently seeking a General Manager. Position Summary: The basic function of the General Manager (GM) is responsible for improving efficiency and increasing departmental profits while managing the company’s overall operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations.
• Maintain budgets and optimize expenses.
• Promote a Safety-First culture.
• Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance.
• Prepare regular reports for upper management.
• Conduct weekly meetings with technicians.
• Develop and train technicians and staff.
• Oversee recruitment and training of new employees.
• Communicate with Human Resources on employee issues.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide action items for improvement.
• Employee engagement.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience as a General Manager or similar experience.
• Experience in planning and budgeting.
• Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.)
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
• Must be goal oriented and a self-starter.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must have the ability to work with other employees, management, technicians, and customers.
• Must have basic sales skills.
• Must have basic reasoning skills.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must have the ability to work with electronic devices such as computers, tablets, phones, and applications associated with these devices.
• Must be able to work with third parties, such as financial institutions, to assist customers with financing.

Experience

A minimum of Five years experience in Commercial Service Plumbing.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Regularly requires sitting, squatting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting for prolonged periods of time.

Body Movements

The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands, feet, and fingers to handle or feel objects and must be capable of bending, reaching, and crouching.

Body Senses

Must have command of all five senses sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone.

Strength

Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

• $130,000 - $150,000/year salary.

Compliance Requirements

• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug test prior to employment.
